STUDIES ON THE ALTERATION OF TUBERCULIN REACTION -Part 1: Alteration of the Tuberculin Reaction due to the Repeated Tests on the Same Site of Human Body.
°¼±Á¦(ˬà¼ð)/Seun Je Kahng
Abstract
Repeated (6 times) tuberculin tests were performed at 20 days intervals on the volar
surfaces of forearms to 218men to investigate the alteration of the tuberculin reactions
due to the repeated intra dermal injection of 2,000¡¿diluted Old Tuberculin solution on
the same site of human body.
They were non-tuberculous and had not been injected Old Tuberculin.
1) Redness:
In the second tests, the reactions were more intensive in redness than the first time
and the most intensive reactions appeared in 24 hour readings after the intradermal OT
injections.
On the first tests the most intensive reactions were found in 36 or 48 hour readings
after OT injections.
In the 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th tests, (20 days intervals) the most intensive reactions in
redness appeared in 12 to 20hour readings but the intensity of the reactions in redness
decreased gradually.
At the 6th tests, 13% of them were false negative cases in 48 hour readings.
2) As to induration, in the second repeated tests, reactions were more intensive than
the first tests and the most intensive reactions appeared in 20 hour readings after OT
intradermal injections.
In 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th tests, the most intensive reactions appeared in 12 hour
readings after OT injection and the most intensive reactions of each case showed
gradual decrease in intensity by repeated OT injections.
In the 6th tests, 18% of them were false negative cases in 48hour readings.
3) In Group ¥², repeated tests were performed at 6months intervals to 54men.
In the second repeated tests, reactions were more accelerated and increased in
intensity than the tests at 20 days intervals and the most intensive reactions in
induration were found in 20hour readings after OT injections.
In the 4th repeated tests, the reactions were markedly increased in intensity and it is
quite different from the decreased intensity when repeated at 20 days intervals.
